Dropped

Ever been dropped by someone?

One day you're talking. Connecting. Growing together.

The next...

Silence.

No fight. No explanation. Just... gone.

Have you ever been on the other side of that?

Have you ever been so busy, so focused, or so consumed by what you're building that someone quietly slipped out of your life?

Or maybe you realized an old friend... doesn't quite vibrate where you do anymore.

It's easy with acquaintances.

It's harder with people you genuinely care about.

What do we owe each other?

Closure?

An explanation?

Nothing?

Is disappearing ever okay?

Is hanging on when the relationship has already changed any better?

If you're a man or woman on a mission, does everyone understand that? Should they?

Or is part of maturity learning how to let people leave—and learning how to leave with grace?

I'm not sure there are simple answers.

But I think there are skills here.

And I think most of us were never taught them.
