AI is many things.
But it is NOT BORING.
I've been thinking about that this morning.
Some people are fascinated by the connection they feel with it.
Some are terrified of it.
Some see enormous opportunity.
Some make extraordinary art with it.
Some are building businesses, software, agents and entirely new ways of working.
And some proudly announce that they won't touch it because it isn't natural or pure—
usually while typing that declaration into a computer, connected to the internet, sitting in an electrically powered house. :)
But underneath all of these reactions, I notice something.
Fascination.
Human beings have encountered something new.
And we're experiencing the hell out of it.
I can see four different movements happening:
Entertainment.
Watch it. Play with it. Be amazed by it.
Engineering.
Get your hands into it. Build something. Solve something. Make it work.
Experience.
Feel what it brings up. Wonder. Connection. Fear. Excitement. Resistance. Awe.
Expression.
Make something with it. Images. Music. Stories. Businesses. Ideas. Beauty. Light. Darkness. The whole human gamut.
Maybe we don't need to decide quite so quickly what all of this means.
Maybe for a moment we can simply notice:
Something genuinely strange has arrived in the human experience.
Look at what it's doing to us.
Look at what we're doing with it.
Look at what we're discovering about ourselves because of it.
Sit back and watch.
Or get in there and play.
Either way—
it's not fucking boring.
