Muad'dib no longer needs the weirding module...

A great line from the movie Dune (I don't believe the line is in the book), which is filled with a stunning amount of great ideas for personal growth, as well as being just a fantastic read. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Paul Atreides discovers that he no longer needs a tool called the Weirding Module (a sonic beam weapon) to actually shoot sonic beams. He sets aside the tools of man and has become such a powerful Magician, that he can do what I call High Magic... or the Magic of the Adept (2° Magician) where the tools of lesser magicians (robes, wands, cups, incantations, etc) are no longer needed. You simply will things to change and they happen...

"In the work of the adept the aspirant has risen above the use of all symbolic systems save reality itself.  The playthings of the initiate - sigils, gods, demons and the instruments of the sorcerer - he will reabsorb into himself or retain only for teaching purposes."

Further, Paul is deeply aware of the concept of Polarity.  He is synthesizing the witch like magic powers of the Feminine and the Masculine.  He progresses past all normal human segregated influences into an exalted integrated state. He must move beyond the normal human archetypes and instead create a new archetype, a the breakout archetype, breaking from everything human and essentially merging with the universe and becoming a 'god'... AS the universe.  And this he does by using a process of mystical training, not unlike our own practices here with the Chef of Enlightenment.
